We will have fun exploring different science topics each month. Every child will take home a topic-related book/activity. Class limit: 15.


Snowflake Maker Space

Grades K - 5

Enjoy your day off school by coming to create original and unique snowflake designs at the Library with your friends. There will be several different art projects to complete and take home. Bring your creativity...we have everything else!


Patch/Brag Tag Club

September 1, 2017 - May 26, 2018

All ages welcome.

There are lots of patches to earn, and new this year, we have brag tags! Come in and see the new brag tags we have added to our reading incentives collection. Simply pick up a reading log of your choice at the Ask Me Desk, read books relevant to the theme, and redeem your completed log for a patch or brag tag! Have fun collecting them all.

'Tis the season for giving, and we need some help spreading our gifts. Come learn to be a Book Fairy! We will supply lots of great new books and teach you how to share the joy of reading with others in the community.

STEM Kits Introduction Party

All ages welcome.

We are so excited to announce our new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics) kits in the YS Department. We are growing our department for your kids' growing minds! We will offer seven STEM experiment kits designed for ages 3 - 8 years.  All STEM kits will be available for preview and play at the Introduction Party. We will begin circulating the kits Wednesday, December 13. Come check them out!


Canines of McHenry County presented by McHenry County Conservation District

All ages welcome.

Discover the different species of the canine family that call McHenry County home.  The presentation will explore the similarities and differences of these wild cousins and showcase hands-on artifacts, including skins and skulls!
