Catch a Dragon by the Tale
June 11 - July 21
Grades Pre K - 8
Kick off a great summer by registering for our annual Summer Reading Club! The 6 weekly check-ins are easy. Simply read a minimum of 90 minutes per week and log your time. There is a weekly incentive, drawing prizes, and guess-how-many contests. Complete 4 weeks and earn a drawing ticket to NAME and WIN our adorable dragon mascot. Each child MUST be present at the weekly check-ins to collect the weekly prize and enter drawings -no exceptions. The last day to check in is Saturday, July 21.

Celebrate Your Reading Accomplishments at the SRC Picnic!
Friday, July 27, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
At week 4 check-in, you will receive your invitation to our annual SRC picnic @ Lions Park. Celebrate with your friends and entertainer, Chris McBrien. Pack a sandwich and meet us at the park. We will provide chips and drinks. In addition, nothing says “well done!” like “ice cream!” FRG Baskin Robbins will be scooping ice cream for everyone at the picnic. Earn your place in line by reading great books and checking in each week! Thanks for your generosity, Baskin Robbins of FRG!
Imaginary Animals Art Workshop
Tuesday, June 26, 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Grades 3 - 8
Terri Murphy will instruct young artists on how to design an imaginary animal, use gouache paint, India ink, and a water rinse to discover the magical process of developing a reverse illustration. Hints of color spice up the final look!
Paws to Read, Then Paws to Sleep
Thursday, July 12, 6:30 p.m.
Grades K - 4
Bring your favorite stuffed animal with its special blanket for storytime and a craft. After, your stuffed animal will have fun spending the weekend with new friends at the Library. Pick up your furry friend on Monday, July 16, and you will receive a photo album of your animal's sleepover.
Summer Reading Buddies
June 18 - July 27
Little Reading Buddies, Grades 1 - 3 and Big Reading Buddies, Grades 6 and up
Parents, are you looking for a fun way to help your kids continue reading when school is out and avoid the summer slide? We are pairing Big Reading Buddies (kids 6th grade and up) with Little Reading Buddies (kids entering 1st-3rd grade) to help younger children learn to love reading! Both Little Buddies and Volunteer Big Buddies must fill out a form, available at the Library, by June 15th. You will be notified of your buddy assignment by June 17th. *Big Reading Buddies may earn community volunteer hours or other incentives; see a Youth Services Librarian for more information.

We've had some pretty amazing live animals visit the Library before, but you won't believe the 10 creepy and cuddly live critters that will be revealed at this summer's show. Be sure to bring your camera for a great photo op! Register early- this popular family program fills quickly.
Dave Herzog's Marionettes presents...Dragon Days and Knight Time

Families will be transformed to merry olde England as the royal court of King Percy the Persnickety celebrates his majesty's birthday. Young and old alike will be entertained by tight rope walkers, trapeze artists, jugglers, acrobats, a roller skating baby dragon, and more!
