CLOSURE FOR RENOVATIONS BEGINS MONDAY, JULY 30 - VISIT OUR E-NEWSLETTER ARCHIVE TO SEE UPDATES
Big changes are afoot at Fox River Grove Memorial Library! We’ve spent a year planning for renovations, and they will start this summer. Anticipated improvements include new carpet throughout the Library, an ADA-accessible family restroom on the upper floor, safety improvements in Youth Services, a cozy reading lounge by the fireplace, a new exterior bookdrop, and more! Best of all, we are able to upgrade our facility without asking for additional funds from our patrons.
For the safety of our staff and patrons, we anticipate being closed from Monday, July 30 through at least early September. Our biggest project is elevator modernization, which is a month-long process. Fortunately, being closed is what makes it possible to accomplish so much. It’s pretty tricky to recarpet a Library when there are books on the shelves!
Even while the Library doors closed, many services will still be available. Our catalog and digital resources are available 24/7/365 from www.frgml.org, and we will host many programs at other locations in Fox River Grove. Subscribe to our e-newsletter for announcements of offsite programs for both youth and adults, including "Tech Tuesdays," a series our director will lead at Panera on using our free digital apps.
Although we will not be able to provide access to materials during renovations, we plan to keep a bookdrop for returning materials available throughout construction.
Thank you for your support of the Library and your patience during the renovation. Please feel free to call or email our director with questions or for assistance with subscribing to the email updates. We can’t wait to show off the new and improved FRGML, better than ever!
That's right: the materials are on the shelves, the paint is dry, and the upstairs bathroom is complete - so as of 9:30 a.m on Tuesday, September 18, your Library is back open with regular hours!
More good news: All your materials that were due Monday, September 17 will have agrace period of several days before any fines start accruing. Need a reminder of what you (and your kids!) checked out? Click here to log into your account online.
Did you hear about the new bookdrop we just opened? It is on the exit driveway. You'll follow the same traffic pattern; just drop off your materials as you exit rather than at the entrance.
Some of our services and materials are still getting finished up - including patron computers - but rest assured that we are still working every day to keep bringing you new and wonderful experiences at your Library. We'll be back at 100% soon!
THANK YOU!!! for your amazing support and patience as we worked to bring you a refreshed FRG Library!
